A handgun and pistol safe allows you to lock them up to keep them safe and secure as well as provide you with quick access in case of an emergency. A handgun and pistol safe can be bolted under a bed or in a night stand to keep it secure but readily available. 

There are two types of locks available on a handgun and pistol safe.

• Digital Electronic Lock - allows you to push in a pre-programmed combination of your choice to gain access. It takes batteries to power the lock. Many handgun and pistol safes with this type of lock have an override key in case the lock fails or you forget your combination.
• Push Button Lock - does not take batteries but still allows you to pre-program a custom combination of your choice. Since it is mechanical and not electronic, there is less chance of the lock failing.

Either way, you get quick access to your handguns when you need them.
