Fireproof safes are designed and engineered to protect your important documents from a fire. Documents such as wills, deeds, passports can be hard to replace and should be protected in a quality fire safe. A fireproof safe comes with different fire ratings.
This means that the fire safe will protect these documents for that amount of time in the event of a fire.
Many brands of fireproof safes have a Underwriters Laboratory (U.L.) rating which does the best testing in the world. Another rating you might see is a Koren Industrial Standard (K.I.S.) rating. This is the second best testing done in the world today. Some brands have an independent laboratory test the safe or they test it themselves. If it has a U.L. or K.I.S. fire label, you know it has been tested to the strictest standards.
Storing high value contents in a fire safe is not recommended since there is very little burglar protection. If you need both fire and burglar protection, take a look at our burglar fire safes.
