Journeyman Alarm and Service Technician

SUMMARY: Journeyman Alarm and Security Systems service technicians report directly to Technician Supervisor, but are responsible to the Service Dispatchers and Project Managers on a daily activities basis. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, performing alarm, CCTV, fire alarm, access control and related systems service, repair, programming and modification.  Responsible for completing service orders and other tasks as assigned by the Service Dispatchers and Project Managers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

This position is open in all of Allied's Northwest Branches.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Washington State Electrical Limited Energy Journeyman (06) License required. NICET II Engineering Certificate in Life Safety and Fire Systems is Preferred. (If not yet obtained, Employee must be actively working to obtain. Valid Washington State Driving License required. Must maintain driving record that is deemed insurable by Company's Auto Insurance Underwriter.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; and risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
